ISPEP Terms of Use

Current version effective as of 29 October 2025.


The ISPEP Hub is a professional community platform designed to connect members,
share knowledge, and strengthen the discipline of Patient Engagement (PE). By
joining and using the Hub, you agree to the following Terms.

1. Community Culture
 

  • From day one, the ISPEP Hub has been intentionally designed to cultivate a culture of inclusivity, empathy, and professional peer support.

  • We believe every member deserves to feel welcome and respected, regardless of their background, experience, or perspective.

  • This foundation of trust and openness shapes how members interact and ensure that the Hub remains a safe space for learning, sharing, and collaboration.

2. Purpose of the Hub
 

  • Provide a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for members.

  • Support knowledge exchange, learning, and collaboration in patient engagement.

  • Uphold ISPEP’s not-for-profit mission of advancing professional standards in patient engagement globally.

3. Membership and Access
 

  • Access to the full Hub (e.g., including areas such as the Discussion Area, Voice to Value Zone, and Resources) is for registered ISPEP members only.

  • Your login credentials are personal; sharing access is not permitted.

  • ISPEP may suspend or revoke access if these Terms are breached.

4. Member Conduct

You agree to:
 

  • Be respectful and professional – treat all members with courtesy, no harassment, discrimination, or defamatory behaviour. Challenge kindly.

  • Protect confidentiality – do not share private member discussions or identifiable information without explicit consent.

  • Contribute constructively – share experience and knowledge to support collective learning.

  • Avoid misinformation – ensure posts are accurate, transparent, and appropriately sourced where relevant.

5. Non-Solicitation and Non-Promotion

  • The Hub is a non-commercial space. No advertising, promotional messaging, or solicitation of members for products, services, fundraising, or business purposes is allowed.

  • Sharing resources or opportunities is welcome only where directly relevant to patient engagement practice and not self-serving.

  • Any conflict of interest must be declared.

6. Privacy, Data Use, and Cookies

  • ISPEP processes any personal data in accordance with our privacy policy: https://www.ispephub.org/privacy-policy

  • We collect only the information necessary to administer membership and enable professional interaction.

  • Your profile (which may include your name, organisation, role, geography) is collected but may not be visible to other members.

  • You retain ownership of the content you contribute, but grant ISPEP a continuous, non-exclusive licence to host, display, store, and archive it within the Hub.

  • Deleted content will be removed from the Hub, though ISPEP may retain backup or archived copies for compliance or legal reasons.

  • Do not post sensitive personal health information or confidential third-party data.

  • ISPEP uses cookies and similar technologies, as described in the Privacy Policy, to enable functionality, analytics, and user experience.

7. Intellectual Property

  • ISPEP materials (frameworks, templates, resources) remain the property of ISPEP and may not be reproduced or distributed outside the Hub without written consent.

  • Member contributions remain the property of the author but are licensed to ISPEP as set out above.

  • Content you post must have rights to share it.

8. Communications
 

  • By joining the Hub, you agree to receive ISPEP communications such as event notices and community updates. You may opt out at any time via email to contact@ispephub.org.

9. Moderation

 

  • The Hub is supported by human moderators who guide discussions and may remove inappropriate content/ posts or suspend accounts where Terms are violated.

  • ISPEP may suspend access for violations of these Terms and persistent breaches may result in termination of membership access.

  • Upon termination, ISPEP may retain personal data and contributions where required by law or compliance, while other content may be deleted or anonymised in line with the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer

 

  •  Content in the Hub is for professional networking and knowledge sharing, not medical, legal, or regulatory advice.

  • Members are responsible for validating information before applying it in practice.
